A&P Maintenance Technician

Well, I finally did it. I went through and obtained my A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) certificate which now allows me to sign off aircarft maintenance performed. It's about time too. I've only grown up around the planes my entire life and now it's official. The certificate required a sign-off from our local FAA office that says I have enough experience to take the tests. Then I had to pass three written tests (General, Airframe, and Powerplant) with a 70% or better. Then after that I had to pass an Oral and Practical test (70% or better) which I just finished today and what a relief. I went into the Oral and Practical with the understanding that it was going to take about an hour (or less). Since for every one of our techs this was the case so they said. But nooooooooooo!! I was there for not one but 7hrs. 7!!!! I ended up fixing a couple of planes for them. It was fun but we have our own planes to work on, ya know??? Anyway, Bitchen!! I'm glad I went through with the whole process and I feel like I've made some accomplishment.
